During the Holidays, you are with your family and friends and the topic of your next Hilton Head Vacation is bound to come up. Continuing our blog to help you plan the best area to stay on the Island, lets discuss the Forest Beach area and Shipyard Plantation.
North and South Forest Beach Area
Forest Beach is at the south end of HHI at the end of Pope Avenue, left is North Forest Beach and to the right is South Forest Beach. NFB has the distinction of having large beach oriented non-gated homes. Some of the homes have 7-8 bedrooms sleeping 20 – 24 people. These can be oceanfront or just a quick few rows back from the Atlantic. Once on the wide open beach there is lots of space. The SFB side is dedicated to more villa options that are oceanfront or just a quick walk to the beach.
Nearby is the public beach, if you enjoy some great people watching. Close by to all of this is the shops and restaurants of our original downtown – Coligny Plaza. There is also Beach Market, BI-LO Center and Heritage Plaza as well other options along Pope Avenue. Getting around on a bike is easy and safe now that we have dedicated bike paths on both sides of Pope Avenue.
Shipyard is a gated community that has an entrance off of Hwy 278 as well as Pope Avenue which makes getting around, the easiest of all the plantations. With a mix of villa complexes,
homes and the Sonesta Resort there is something for everyone. Along with golf courses and Van Der Meer Tennis, the price point is very good.
A villa like 196 Beachwalk puts you just a quick walk to the beach and all the amenities inside the gates. Hop on a bike and very quickly you are at shops and restaurants whether you go to Pope Avenue and Coligny Plaza or across Hwy 278 to Wexford Village.
As you can see both the Forest Beach area and Shipyard Plantation have options that just may be perfect for your group for your Hilton Head Vacation.
