Golf Hilton Head Island
Golf on Hilton Head Island is one of the major amenities here. In fact golf put Hilton Head on the national map back in 1969 when the very first PGA golf tournament The Heritage of Golf was played at the famed Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines Resort. It set the standard for future development for both residential development and golf course development on the island. With such a high standard there is no wonder we have so many wonderful courses for you to choose from both on and off the island. If you are thinking about reserving a Hilton Head Island vacation rental and want to play golf, you will be in heaven. Hilton Head has 19 public courses and 11 more options are just over the bridge in Bluffton and Okatie, SC. From PGA played courses in Sea Pines to value oriented courses in Okatie there is a course for every handicap and level of golfer.
Sea Pines Resort – South End
When one thinks of Golf on Hilton Head your first thoughts should go to the three courses in the Sea Pines Resort. Recently the Plantation Club and Harbour Town Clubhouse were updated to a total of $40 million dollars and include the only locker room attendants at a public course on Hilton Head Island. Besides the facility renovations, Davis Love III completely overhauled the first Island course (Ocean Course) to the brand new Atlantic Dunes and everyone loves the course. Harbour Town Golf Links home of the only PGA Heritage of Golf tournament has new grass and irrigation system for Harbour Town. And we can’t forget the tree lines Heron Point by Pete Dye Courses. To say this is a golf mecca is an understatement. Rates range from $350 to $100 depending on course, time of day and season.
Palmetto Dunes – Mid-Island
Palmetto Dunes is home to another 3 fantastic courses! Robert Trent Jones is one of only 2 courses on the entire island (the other is the Atlantic Dunes in Sea Pines) that play up to the ocean. It’s a wonderful resort style course with lots of open expansive vistas overlooking the 11 mile salt water lagoon system within Palmetto Dunes Resort. There are two other great options in Arthur Hills and George Fazio. In the spring golf season the rates range from $182 – $113 depending on course and time of day.
Heritage Golf Group – South End to North End
For a great golf value try one of the many permutations of golf with the Heritage Golf group. At Shipyard Golf and Port Royal there are each three 9 hole courses that can be played in different way. Try your hand at Clipper, Galleon and Brigantine courses in Shipyard if you are on the south end or Barony, Clipper and Robbers Row courses closer to the north end in Port Royal. Another of their options is Oyster Reef located in Hilton Head Plantation. Rates range from $115 to $59 depending on course, time of day and season.
Brown Golf – North End
Brown Golf is a new player in the Hilton Head golf market. Many of their options are off island but on the Island you can play at Arthur Hills and Robert Cupp in Palmetto Hall and Dolphin Head in Hilton Head Plantation. Rates range from $105 to $55 depending on course, time of day and season.
A few more courses on that may be an option during your Hilton Head Island vacation rental stay on the Island – Golden Bear Golf Club, The Country Club of Hilton Head and The Golf Club at Indigo Run. Or just a bit off Hilton Head in Bluffton and Okatie SC you have Hilton Head National, Eagles and Crescent Pointe, Rose Hill, Island West, Old South Golf Links and Old Carolina Golf Club and more.
Many of these courses will have specials and packages that change frequently so check directly with them but be sure and stay with Hilton Head Rental Resource as we have the perfect rental property for your visit.
