Shopping on Hilton Head
Vacation condos on Hilton Head are close to nearby shopping malls and outlets. In fact a recent pole by the Chamber of Commerce sited Shopping Hilton Head as one of the top 3 activities for visitors to the island. Hilton Head has upscale boutiques, outlet malls and thrift shops that donate their proceeds to charity as well as locally owned specialty shops.
There are great plazas throughout Hilton Head rental property with specialty shops, boutiques, beaches and surf shops, even Christmas stores. Coligny Plaza first opened in 1956 making it the oldest shopping area on the Island. Coligny is actually considered the “down town” area of Hilton Head. It is a delightful place to wander in and out of all the great shops and have a great lunch or dinner. Across the street is the Beach Market with more shops and restaurant locations for great shopping.
Other great shopping areas on Hilton Head are the shops in Sea Pines Resort, Wexford Plaza, Fresh Market Shoppes, the new Shelter Cove Towne Center, Festival Centre where you will find Barnes & Noble, Pier One and even WalMart; and the Main Street Plaza across the street all have a unique shopping experience to offer. Another Hilton Head favorite is the Shelter Cove marina with resort-style specialty stores. Shop awhile and have a great lunch by the marina with awesome views.
Off island there are the Tanger Outlets I and II along with all the great stores you may or may not have in your hometown such as Best Buy, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot and Lowe’s as well as Pet Smart and Michaels. Downtown Bluffton offers an eclectic mix of local arts and craft stores and shops that are a real treat to explore and find some of the most unique items that you will certainly not find in any other place. Be sure to check out the Farmer’s Market, which was just named the State’s #1 Farmer’s Market. If you are nearby or staying in any Hilton Head vacation homes for rent, there is always a great place to shop. Here are some excellent references for you “shopaholics”
